PHOTOGRAPH, CABINET CARD, "B 3286 SPRING STREET, LOOKING NORTH, LOS ANGELES, CAL," by Isaiah Taber, San Francisco, ca. 1880s. The view shows a busy street with many pedestrians and horse-drawn conveyances. One to three-story business buildings line either side of the thoroughfare and many have awnings and other coverings. Pedestrians are also walking along the sidewalks. Electricity and telegraph wires criss-cross the street, as well. The caption and photographer's name and location are at the bottom. With mount curvature, fire damage at the upper left marginally affecting the image, stains, browning, and fading of the image, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
