Description
"B 4257. Spanish Bayonet (cactus) in bloom, height, 20 ft., S. Cal.," Isaiah W. Taber, San Francisco, ca. 1880s. The view is of what is known typically as the yucca aloifolia and it is in an unidentified hilly area with a man standing next to us for height comparison. The image is likely a reprint of a late 1870s photo by Arthur C. Varela and is mounted on a card with .1 of this accession. With discoloration from adhesive and light soiling, the condition is good.
