B.P.O.E. ELKS PIN, LOS ANGELES NATIONAL CONVENTION, JULY 1929
Color: Gold; Purple
A pin and ribbon commemorating the national convention of the Elks, Los Angeles, July 1929. The item has a gold-colored metal upper section, on which is stamped "BPOE" in the rays of the sun at the top, the words "CALIFORNIA / LOS ANGELES / JULY 1929" below the sun, and, in a banner surrounding an elk's head within a clock, the words "65TH NATIONAL CONVENTION." Floral elements are also notable decorative components to the pin. Attached to the back of the pin are a pin for attaching to clothing and, below this, two triangular-shaped clasps, to which is attached a purple silk ribbon. On the ribbon, vertically, are the letters "BPOE." With ribbon creases, curling, lettering fading, stains, and fraying, as well as some tarnish and grime on the metal pin, the overall condition of the object is fair.Lexicon
