"B2018 The Interior. St. Vibiana Cathedral, Los Angeles, Cal." Isaiah W. Taber, San Francisco, ca. 1882. The image is taken from the rear of the cathedral to the right of the main aisle and takes in the rows of pews, the columns with Corinthian capitals, the vaulted ceiling, arched windows, and the altar. Much of the painted ceiling and rear wall, as well as statues in niches and freestanding on the altar are of note. The photo is mounted on a piece of gray paperboard. There is what may be the date of 4 April 1882 typed on the cloth tape on the reverse. There is some foxing on the image and some soiling and a stain, as well as foxing, soiling, stains, tears, and heavy edge wear to the mount, but the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
