Description

BACKYARD FENCE FROM DUBOIS WOVEN WOOD FENCE PAMPHLET Color: Black; White A photograph of a backyard fence from a pamphlet for Dubois Woven Wood fences, ca. 1920s. The horizontal image shows a curved section of fence made of woven wood joined, it appears, with a brick wall at right. Most of the wood wall is covered with vines and shrubbery. A large shrub or small tree is just right of center and, in front of the brick wall at the right, is a wood arbor with a bird bath nearby. In the foreground is a lawn, while behind the fencing in the background is a dense area of trees. It is assumed the image was taken at a residence. A caption at the bottom reads "A PERFECT BACKGROUND, GIVING SECLUSION AT ALL SEASONS." At the lower left is the inscription "Dubois Woven Wood Fence / Made in France," while at the lower right is "Robert C. Reeves Co. / New York." There appears to be little wear or damage to the artifact, which is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
