2008.128.1.1Description
"Bal Masque, Wilshire Apts., 24 February 1921" by M. F. Weaver, Los Angeles. The image shows over 100 persons, including a quartet of black musicians, in a large space in the apartment building. Revelers are dressed in a wide variety of costumes, although a few are in regular dress. Some features of the room are in view and the musicians, including a pianist (with sheet music for the song "Louisiana" on the music stand) and drummer. As rolled up and with some creases, edge rubbing, and soiling, the overall condition is good.
