Color: Green; Red; White
"Baltimore Price Reducer" wholesale catalog issued by the American Wholesale Corporation, May 1928. The cover, which has a red and green checkered pattern background, has rectangular boxes at the top and bottom and a larger square box between them in the center. At the top box is the title and date of the catalog, with the larger square panel giving the items and prices in the company's "Our Monthly Dozen" promotion and their quality and low-price guarantee for their products. At the bottom is the company name, amount of capitalization, city of business, and the copyright information. On the reverse are three boxes in red, with the top consisting of photographs of the company's six buildings in Baltimore, the center having an offer to reimburse travel expenses for those who visit the company and buy merchandise of $1200 value or higher, and the lower box containing the same information as in the lower box on the front cover. Included in the 314-page catalog are statements on sales terms, another price guarantee for the catalog items, a certified sales statement for 1927, and a statement for merchants. Because of the wide range of items sold, a comprehensive list is not possible, but the company sold general merchandise in the broad sense of the term. There are many illustrations, with some pages in color, and an index at the back. A tipped-in order form is item .2. With creases, abrasions, cover edge wear and light page discoloration, the object is in fair condition.Lexicon
