"Bancroft's California Lawyer and Book of Forms" (San Francisco: H. H. Bancroft and Company,) 1860. The work is divided into thirty-eight chapters with the first containing the state Constitution and decisions of the state Supreme Court concerning constitutional construction, the second concerning the types of legal instruments requiring recordation and the satisfaction and discharge of judgments and liens, while the remainder deal alphabetically with the various parts of the law. At the rear are an index and list of law books available from the publisher. In poor condition, the boards are nearly detached, the spine in tatters, and many pages are stained, torn, and fragile.
