Description

Color: Black; Red; White "Baseball" March 1928 issue, published by The Baseball Magazine Company, New York. The front cover has a red border with a white field at the center, part of which has border elements of baseball bats and balls. The title is at the top of this feild and an image of a player throwing a ball with a black and red target-like design in the background is below. At the bottom left of this field are the month and price. At the very bottom are titles and authors of four featured articles and the note that 500,000 baseball fans read the magazine. Contents include a review of the sport for the month; baseball statisticians; player drafts; sport records; equipment; a variety of pieces on current and past players and teams; and other articles relating mainly to players. There are many photograph illustrations and advertisements in the 47-page artifact, which has spine and edge abrasions; cover creases, corner dents and folds, tears, stains, and browning of the pages, but in good condition overall.
