Description

Color: Black Bausch & Lomb Balopticon projector model CL, ca. 1919. The back has a large case, on one side of which is a hatch with a handle. On the hatch is a metal plate that has the name and location of the manufacturer, as well as the model number "110302." The hatch opens downward to a compartment that houses a 1000-watt lamp and a light reflector. The lens is located at the front at the end of an adjustable view-finder. A compartment into which balopticon or lantern slides can be inserted is located between the view-finder and the rear case. This compartment slides out horizontally and along the top of it is an opening for the inserting of balopticon or lantern slides. The artifact is in fair condition having some abrasions, corrosion of bare metal, soiling, and flaking of the black paint.
