A cabinet card photograph, "Beach Scene at Redondo," ca. 1889. The unattributed photograph shows dozens of people on the sand, many beneath umbrellas and wearing full-length dresses, leisure suits and hats. There are some people at the far left in the water, but most persons are sitting or reclining on the sand. In the distance, to the north, is a long wooden pier, probably at Manhattan Beach. The title is at the lower left and on the reverse is a pencil inscription "About 1889." With soiling, some stains and edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
