"Bench and Bar in California: History, Anecdotes, Reminiscences," Volume III, Oscar T. Shuck (San Francisco: The Occident Printing House,) 1889. The item, the final of three volumes, consists of chapters that are primarily biographical but which also concern major legal issues and events in the state.
