Description

Color: Brown; Gold "Bench and Bar of Los Angeles County," issued by the Daily Journal Company (Los Angeles: Daily Journal Company, 1929), 255 pp. The hardcover book is bound in brown imitation leather. At the top left corner of the front is the title on the top of a scroll and feather design and the title and design are in gold. The date is also in gold within a rectangle at the bottom right corner. The title and date are also on the spine in brown. At the beginning of the inside are a title page, a foreword, and letters from the presidents of the Los Angeles Daily Journal, American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and the Los Angeles Bar Association. Also at the beginning are a historical summary of the bench and bar and a list of the county's judges. The book is divided into two sections with the judges of the county listed in section one and lawyers thereafter. A black and white photograph, brief biography, and address of practice for each person are included. An alphabetical index is at the end. With some abrasions on the cover; dented corners; darkening of the gold on the cover; surface soiling; and a small tear on the cover fabric, the artifact is in good overall condition.
