Description

Color: Blue; White "Better Homes From Old Houses," by the Barrett Company and Architectural Forum, 1924. The 16-page booklet has a blue cover with the title across the top of the front and two color drawings of a home before and after restoration below. On the bottom portion of the front is a rectangle within which are the words, "How to / make your old house- / more comfortable, more attractive / and worth more money." The title and the rectangle are in an off-white color. The publication includes ways to alter and modernize cottages; homes with bay windows; American farm homes; old colonial cottages; mid-Victorian homes; and hipped roof homes. Five different layout plans are included with each home type. Included at the back is a section with finish details available through the Barrett Company, and a section on the importance of roofs and Barrett shingles. Many black and white line drawings are also included. With light creases on the corners and abrasions on the spine, the object is in good condition.
