Description

Color: Black; Blue; Green; Red; White; Yellow "Better Homes & Gardens," March 1929 issue, published by the Meredith Publishing Company. The front cover has the date and cost at the top with the title in large letters below. A color image of the exterior of a house, with abundant flowering plants and a stairway leading to the home in the foreground encompasses most of the cover. The publisher's name and location are at the bottom. The back cover has an advertisement from a flour company. There are many articles in the publication touching on interior decoration, gardening, home remodeling, cooking, architecture, leisure activities, and some short stories. The work is heavily illustrated with drawings and photographs and there are many advertisements related to domestic life. In poor condition, the periodical has cover creases, dents at the corners, surface soiling, a fold at the top right corner, losses at the spine, stains on the back, and tears throughout; as well as rusted staples; general wear; and a musty smell.
