Description

Color: Blue; Brown; Green; Red; White A colored photographic postcard of the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, ca. 1928. The image is taken from Pershing Square, the park across Hill Street from the hotel and so some trees in the photo partially obscure the view of the structure, which has three red brick faced towers atop a concrete facade lower section, consisting of the lobby, restaurants, ballrooms, and other visitor amenities. Aside from the trees and grass in the park, there are cars parked along Hill Street, and glimpses of other buildings in the background at left. At the upper right is the caption "Los Angeles / BILTMORE / The Host of the Coast." On the back is a short message and an address for the recipient. A cencelled two-cent stamp is at the upper right, and the postmark is dated March 2, 1928. The hotel name is printed at the top center and the publisher's name and location (Los Angeles) are at the left margin. With a few small creases, and abraded corners, the postcard is in good overall condition.
