Description

Color: Black; White A copy of a black and white photograph of the dedication of the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum by Bishop John J. Cantwell, April 1921. The prelate is at the entrance to the mausoleum, holding his staff in his left hand and his right extended out, as if in blessing. Other clergy stand to the right of the entrance. A large group of persons stands on or below the steps to the building, which was being dedicated after its completion. Most of the front of the structure is visible, including the name carved on the entablature and the cross at the roof's apex. To the left and right, in the background, is a palm tree recently planted and the absence of a wall behind that is because of the pipe fence just installed. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
