A real photo postcard, "Blanch[e] Ring's Los Angeles Home, The Villa Bianca," postmarked 6 October 1915. The image shows the popular singer and actor, who was making a film that year, standing at the bottom of the stairs leading to the hillside Mission Revivial residence on Franklin Avenue near Fuller Avenue below Runyon Canyon in Hollywood. An apartment complex built in the late 1980s is on the site now. The writer of the message was actor Thomas Meighan, writing to his brother, King, and requesting letters and adding, "This house is where I lived for 2 months," as Meighan was married to Ring's sister, Frances. Meighan, whose first film was also in 1915, went on to stardom in movies during the 1920s, while Blanche Ring made only a few films and returned to stage work. With edge bumping, small stains, soiling and creases, the condition is fair.
