Book, O. Henry's Stories for Mrs. Temple, ca. 1920. The dark brown front cover shows the title, which appears to be written in paint, and an adhered real photo postcard of the Castle Sant'Angelo (also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian). A handwritten inscription on the first unnumbered page reads, "Merry Christmas 1920 / to / Mrs Walter P. Temple / Alhambra." Newspaper clippings with short stories, many written by Doubleday, have been adhered to the pages of the book. A postcard with an illustration of the Alte Nahebrücke, a bridge in Bad Kreuznach, Germany has been adhered to the back cover. With major tears on the front cover, moderate discoloration, minor warping, minor foxing, minor silverfish damage, the object is in fair condition overall.
