Description

Color: Black; Brown; Red "Book of Designs and Materials," a catalog issued by the Grand Rapids Fibre Cord Company, 1928. The 32-page booklet has a brown paper cover with a red circle in the middle within which are the images of a chair, lamp, and table. On the top of this is the title, and the dates and address are across the bottom. On the back is an advertisement for a complete 9-piece living room set with the images of the furniture. At the beginning is an explanation of the colors in art-fibre, a price list, and an article on the manufacturing of the furniture. Art-fibre items available include lamps; stands; plant boxes; baskets; chairs; foot stools; tables; hampers; book racks; tea wagons; day beds; benches; porch furniture; cabinets; weaving supplies, materials, and books. At the back are ordering instructions and a guarantee. Many black and white images are included. With abrasions; surface soiling; creases at the corners; folds on some pages; stains; small tears along the edges; and writing on page 25, the artifact is in fair condition.
