Description
"Cyclopedia of English Literature: A History, Critical and Biographical of British Authors from the Earliest to the Present Times, Vol. II" edited by Robert Chambers, 1848 (Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott & Company). An inscription written on the fly page in pencil reads "Laurenza L. Gonzalez/San Antonio, California/Jan 2nd 1891/Presented by F.W. Temple/Puente, Cal. 1887." This was possibly a book given to Laura by Francis Workman Temple. With heavy exposure to stains from moisture damage, abrasions, mold, warped and loose pages, creasing, it is in poor condition. The book was given a treatment to remove the mold spores, including UV exposure. It was segregated from the collection, bagged and stored in the West Building. The building has an HVAC system.
