Description

Color: Blue; White "Boston, Massachusetts," a pamphlet issued by the Convention Bureau, Boston Chamber of Commerce and printed by The Southgate Press, 1928. The 64-page softcover booklet has the title at the top of the front cover and a color image of the Boston skyline from the water with the image of a patriot in the clouds above. A brief introduction titled "The Real Boston" is followed by sections detailing sights to be seen in walking around the city; points of special interest, including historic areas, modern aspects, the metropolitan area; nearby points of interest; material on Boston's place in revolutionary America's history; points of interest in other areas of New England; and the John Hancock mansion. Advertisements and a map of the city comprise the back of the document, which has a table contents and alphabetical list of communities mentioned in the book at the end. The cover has brittleness, many creases, much soiling, stains, and tears; while the pages have discoloration and some foxing, so the object is in fair condition overall.
