Description

Color: Green; Red; White; Yellow A box bottom and lid for a Santa Claus Christmas tree lighting outfit, 1928. The lid has an image at the top panel of the head of Santa Claus on a background of snowfall. The product name is in yellow and red lettering to the right. On two panels are decorative images of poinsettia flowers and holly. On the other ends are spaces for listing the product number (which is on one side and is 53-1699), and a description of the system as single wire, and having eight lights. The copyright date of 1928 is at the lower left of the top panel. The box bottom is plain cardboard and has no descriptive information, aside from two metal staples at the ends for securing the light storage board (item .2) in palce. The lid has many creases, much soiling and darkening, many stains, torn sides, and overall wear and the bottom is in better shape with some water stains and a torn section on one side panel, so the overall condition is fair.
