Color: Gold; Red
A box of ten Stanley metal Christmas seals, ca. 1926. The box consists of an outer portion with a cover containing a sample of the seal affixed at the left. It has the word "GREETINGS" in a banner with a large flower above and the colors are gold and red. To the right, in red ink, are the words "STANLEY'S / Metal / Seals." On the reverse is the company's logo, a sign with the words "THE SIGN OF THE / STANLEY / LINE" on it, under which is a motto reading "'MOISTEN LIGHTLY / THEY STICK TIGHTLY'", a copyright date of 1926, and the company name and city of business. On one of the narrow side panels is the word "PATENTED" with the words "MADE IN THE U. S. A." on another side. Within the box is a tray with two side flaps, within which are ten seals like that on the cover. There is some light surface soiling on the box, but the seals show no indication of wear or damage and the artifact is in good condition.
