Color: Green; Red
A box of nine Stanley metal Christmas seals, ca. 1926. The box consists of an outer portion with a cover containing a sample of the seal affixed at the left. It has the word "GREETINGS" along the bottom edge with two bells hanging from a branch of a pine tree. There are also some pine needles and cones on the seal, which is a light green color. To the right, in red ink, are the words "STANLEY'S / Metal / Seals." On the reverse is the company's logo, a sign with the words "THE SIGN OF THE / STANLEY / LINE" on it, under which is a motto reading "'MOISTEN LIGHTLY / THEY STICK TIGHTLY'", a copyright date of 1926, and the company name and city of business. On one of the narrow side panels is the word "PATENTED" with the words "MADE IN THE U. S. A." on another side. Within the box is a tray with two side flaps, within which are nine seals like that on the cover. There is some light surface soiling on the box, but the seals show no indication of wear or damage and the artifact is in good condition.
