Description

A photograph of Boys Republic students, Chino, ca. 1914. The image shows a group of eighteen boys and a small dog posed in two rows in what appears to be an open field with trees in the background, probably at the school. Three boys hold a baseball, a glove, and a bat. On the reverse is the word "Republic" in ink. The facility, known as George Junior Republic, was opened in 1907 in what is now the city of Chino Hills. The image came from album pages that are part of the accession. With the upper right corner torn away, soiling and glue residue on the reverse, the condition is fair.
