Description

BROADWAY NORTH FROM SEVENTH, LOS ANGELES, 1907. The photograph shows a busy street filled with pedestrians, trolley cars, and commercial buildings. At the far background are other buildings and residences on the hills, possibly Bunker Hill. On the sides of some of the buildings are advertisements for Hotel Alexandria, Glenn-Marshall Company of paint supplies, Mackie-Fredericks Company of furniture, linoleum, and carpets. Other advertisement signs include Parmelee-Donrmann Co., and Foryt & Pettebome Company for gas and electric parts. At the center of the image at the street level are banners hanging between buildings. On the first banner, though difficult to read shows the city name of Venice. With moderate yellowing, the photograph is in good condition overall.
