"Catalogue of Moulded and Ornamental Bricks," issued by the Hydraulic-Press Brick Company, 1909. The 132-page publication has a paper cover with a brown color and the front has the title at the top, the location cities which the catalog covered, an Arts-and-Crafts style company logo at the lower center, and the company name and publication date at the bottom. On the inside are listings of the ten factories and four showrooms, all in the Midwest and East, of the company, as well as its headquarters in St. Louis. The first section concerns arches, followed by an index of brick groups with another index of shapes and prices. Ordering and shipping information, a key to lettering codes used in the document, size information, and drawings of external returns as bricks are laid are included afterward. All of the above are front matter with Roman numeral page numbers. From page one are product listings, including moulded brick; radius bricks; rounded bricks; binders and starters; bricks for sills; hinges and jambs; string courses; base courses; cornices and crown moldings; fluted columns; ornamental moldings and Roman-sized bricks. Though the cover has some stains, dented corners and wear and there are some stains on the flysheet, the pages are fine and the artifact is in good condition overall.Lexicon
