Description

Color: Green; Purple; White A brochure for the California Alligator Farm near Lincoln Park in the El Sereno area of Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. The artifact has the name of the farm at the top of the front in white. At the right of the center is a photograph of an alligator with its jaws opened. Between its jaws is a circle within which are the words, "SEE AFRICA / FIRST." At the left of the center is "SEE THE / TRAINED / ALLIGATORS / 1000 / ON / EXHIBIT / OPEN / EVERY / DAY." At the bottom is a brief description of the farm and "Opposite Lincoln Park." Also at the bottom is "Alligator Goods At Wholesale Prices." The name of the farm is also at the top of the back. At the center of the back is a photograph of a child riding on the back of an alligator. All of the printing on the front and back is in green ink. Inside are descriptions of the facility, the guides, and the trained animals. The printing on the inside is in purple ink. Three black and white photographs are included. With only light creases and some discoloration, the object is in good condition.
