Description

CALIFORNIA COAST, PROBABLY PALISADE PARK, SANTA MONICA, 1920s Color: Black; White A photograph by E. C. Engelhardt of what is likely Palisade Park in Santa Monica, overlooking the coast, 1920s. If the location is correct, the view is looking north from the cliff's edge. At the right are some rough wood fencing and a variety of trees. The eroded bluffs are at the center and, at the left, is Pacific Coast Highway, some shoreline residences, and sections of beach along the shore. At the bottom right is the printed caption "Photo by E. C. Engelhardt." On the reverse are some penciled notations, but it is difficult to discern meaning from there. With light soiling on the back, slight yellowing, and minor warping, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
