The official journal of the Department of Public Works, State of California, the item has material on the department's response to the St. Francis Dam disaster of earlier in the year; San Francisco's road problems; a European super highway; highways in the Sierra Nevada Mountains; highway policies in the state; and others. There are many photos as illustrations and a roster of state officials, mainly for the department, is at the rear.
