Color: Green; Orange; Red
A Christmas card with a California-theme, ca. 1913. The orange card has a black-background panel at the left with tall brown trees, brown bushes, an orange path with an orange wood fence and what appears to be a birdhouse on one of the fence poles. At the upper left appears to be some oranges on branches with leaves. At the bottom are some plants with red flowers, while to the right is a message reading "With / California's / merriest / and happiest / Christmas / greetings / to You." Below this, in the lower right corner is an inscription in black ink: "Dot / From / Laura." On the reverse, which was blank, is a message reading "I hope you and / Uncle are keeping / well and will enjoy / a happy Christmas. / We are well and busy / all the time. Our / boy is fast growing / into a big sturdy / youngster. / Love to you both, / Laura." There are some indications of staining or a transfer of some kind on the back and dented corners and slight edge wear, but the card is in good condition.
