CALLING CARD FROM MR. AND MRS. ED B. LAVENTHAL

A calling card (a) with envelope (b) from Mr. and Mrs. Ed B. Laventhal to the Temple Family, December 1922 or January 1923. The card has the name "Mrs. Ed B. Laventhal" printed in script at the center. Written in black ink at the top is: "Sincere sympathy &/ condolences" and next to the printed name "Mrs. Ed B. Laventhal" is written "Mr. &." At the bottom is written: "540 Leavenworth St S.F.". The envelope is on plain white paper and neither part has any furhter identifying features. The date is derived from the assumption that the item was sent on the occasion of Laura Temple's death in late-December 1922. Both have light surface soiling and some discoloration and are, therefore, in fair condition.
