A campaign pin for California gubernatorial candidate, Henry T. Gage, 1898. Tuttle & Co. of San Francisco, as well as the manufacturer, The Whitehead & Hoag Company, of New Jersey. Gage, a Republican, won the election and served one term. He resided on a large ranch in what is now Bell Gardens, California, near Los Angeles, was a former sheep rancher, attorney, Los Angeles city attorney, and Ambassador to Portugal. There are minor areas of rust and some discoloration to the face, but the pin is in good condition.
