A real photo postcard, "Camps and Shops, Calif. Oil Fields Limited" in Coalinga, California, postmarked 3 December 1909. The view is taken from a low hill and looks upon a broad dirt street, flanking which are residences, commercial structures and oil derricks. More low, bare hills are in the scene, as well. At the bottom is a caption reading "CAMPS AND SHOPS, CALIF. OIL FIELDS LIMITED." A message on the reverse notes the location as does the postmark. There is also an address, stamp, and cancellation. With soiling, a tear at the right of the top, and some edge rubbing, the condition is fair.Lexicon
