Description

CANCELLED CHECK FOLDER, WALTER P. TEMPLE, CA. 1912 A cancelled check folder owned by Walter P. Temple, ca. 1912. The folder is of a heavy white card stock and has a flap cover. In the center of the flap is a round metal piece, probably used to tie a string around to keep the folder closed; the string, however, is missing. The folder is labeled (see marks), but otherwise has no other distinguishing characteristics. Inside was a stack of papers (97.58.10.3-.71) bundled together with a string (97.58.10.2). These items are not separated from the folder, which is in poor condition with overall surface foxing, soiling and staining; spider egg residue on the front right; many creases; and discoloration.Written in Walter Temple's hand in black ink on the front right is "Business Papers / May 2nd 1912 [underlined] / No 12 [circled]."
