Description

CANCELLED CHECK FOLDER, WALTER P. TEMPLE, CA. 1912 Color: White A cancled check folder owned by Walter P. Temple, ca. 1912. the folder is of a heavy white card stock and has a flap cover. In the center of the flap is round metal piece, probably used to tie string around to keep the folder closed; the string, however, is missing. The folder is labeled (see marks), but ptherwise has no other distinguishing characteristics. Inside was a stack of papers (97.58.10.2-.22) bundeled together with a string. Written in Walter Temple's hand in black ink on the front right is "Private Papers & Letters / May 2nd 1912 [underlined] / No 7 [circled]." These items are now seperated from the folder, which is in poor cindition with overall surface foxing, soiling and staining; many creases; and discoloration.
