CANCELLED CHECK, WALTER P. TEMPLE TO JOHNSTONE JONES, 16 JANUARY 1908
A cancelled check from Walter P. Temple to Johnstone Jones, issued by the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, 16 January 1908. The check, on white paper, has the city, date, and check number at the top, followed by the company name, and then the lines for payee, amount, and payer's signature. There is a bank paid stamp at the center. Jones, who was Walter Temple's attorney, endorsed the check on the back. In fair condition, the check's lower left corner is torn off; there is a tear at the upper left corner and top right edge; there are several creases; the lower right corner is bent; there is an ink smear on Jones' first name on the payee line; and there is general discoloration.Lexicon
