CANCELLED CHECKS, DEPOSIT SLIP, AND ENVELOPE, WALTER P. TEMPLE, 1904-05
Color: Black; Blue; Green; White
A set of sixteen cancelled checks, a deposit slip, and envelope of Walter P. Temple with The Farmers and Merchants Bank, 1904-1905. Fourteen of the checks were originally in item 5.1, a bankbook. They are numbered consecutively from 1 to 17, but there are some missing items in the series. The other two checks are of a different style and size than the others. All are pierce stamped with the word "PAID" to show they are cancelled. The deposit slip shows a listing of two deposits and there are written instructions on the reverse for the disbursement of those funds, in Walter Temple's funds. The envelope is from the bank and is addressed to Temple with a notation on it in his hand "Checks / F. M. Bank." Because the envelope was opened at the right edge, part of it is gone and the cancellation stamp is only partially intact. The checks have some ink stains, creases, and slight discoloration. The deposit slip has a dogeared corner, discoloration and some stains. The envelope has much discoloration, creases, tears, and stains. The overall condition, however, is good.Lexicon
