Description

"CARL FISCHER PARAMOUNT FOLIO OF STANDARD FAVORITES" Color: Blue; Orange; White Sheet music folio, "Carl Fischer Paramount Folio of Standard Favorites," by Lester Brockton, published by Carl Fischer, Incorporated, 1928. On the cover is the title at the top in blue letters. Below it is a blue circular field within an orange flower-like design. Within this blue field is the arranger's name and a note that the transcriptions are for saxophones, clarinet, trumpets, and cornets. Images of these instruments and men playing some of them are scattered throughout the cover. At the bottom is a note that there are piano accompaniments, the price, the publisher's name, and places of business. Contents include twelve pieces of classical and popular music with a note that those playing other instruments, such as the oboe, trombone, or variant saxophones, clarinets, and B-flat instruments could use existing parts for those instruments. The transcriptions, however, are indicated for piano and items .2 and .3 of this accession were tipped in and are for alto saxophone and clarinet, trumpet or cornet. and saxophone, respectively. A stamp at the upper right of the front cover is that of an owner. With cover creases, soiling, a loss at the top right corner of the front, mustiness, stains, small tears, and page yellowing and foxing, the overall condition is good.
