Description

Color: Blue; Pink; White "Carolina Moon" sheet music, published by Joe Morris Music Company, New York, 1928. The cover has a pink background with a white stripe running vertically, the title in Art Deco lettering at the top, the names of the composers, Benny Davis and Joe Burke, just below and to the left, a very stylized image of a woman in a large gown with a bright moon shining in a very dark blue sky at right of center, a photograph of popular singer Gene Austin at the lower left, and the publisher's name and address at the bottom. The score has a tuning scale for ukulele and is written in a valse tempo. The ukulele arrangement was written by May Singhi Breen. Advertisements for other sheet music pieces offered by the publisher are on the inside front and rear covers. At the top of the front cover, just right of center is the penciled name of a previous owner. Having come separated into individual pages, with many creases; much soiling; page discoloration; foxing; and a few tears, the artifact is in poor condition.
