The woman is sitting on a wicker stool with a footstool to her right. She is wearing a white dress, black opera gloves,and a corsage. Her bust has decorative black lace trim.The style of sleeves were known as the leg of mutton or gigot and was typical of the late nineteenth century. The bottom is debossed with "Steckel / Swiss Panel / Los Angeles, Cal." The lady is identified as Carrie Longstreet. The bottom left of the photo is either decoratively trimmed or cut to fit a frame. With moderate discoloration, the object is in good condition overall.
