Color: Black; Brown "Gymnastic Apparatus," catalog F15 from the Narragansett Machine Company, 162 + 78 pp., 1927. The hardbound artifact has a light brown cover with the title at the top of the front, the company logo at the center, and the catalog number at the bottom. The company name and title are on the spine. On the title page is the location of company headquarters and addresses for the Chicago and New York offices. Following is a drawing of the company plant in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. After this is a foreword and an index, with information on a booklet on chest weight exercises, card hangers for pulley weight machine exercises, a listing of types of pulley weights, and pulley specifications and details. Product listings begin on page 11 and include several types of pulleys and weightlifting equipment; gymnastic equipment, such as parallel bars and accessories, horses, rings and spring boards; climbing appartuses and sliding poles; spring boards for swimming pools; jump and vaulting stands and poles; striking bags; mats; Indian clubs; bicycles; basketball equipment; volleyball equipment; lockers; benches; and storage cabinets. A separate section called "Anthropometric Apparatus", from pages 151-162, includes weight scales, measuring tools, stethoscopes and first aid kits. Another section "Gymnasium Construction," separate paginated from 1-77, describes different plans and layouts with illustrations of those offered by the company, concluding with an index. There are many black and white photographs. There is foxing on the inside covers, the binding is loose and there are stains and soiling on the covers, so the object is in fair condition.
