Cawston's Ostrich Farm, South Pasadena, California, ca. 1896. The view shows a man standing with four ostriches next to a board fence. More fenced enclosures and some of the Monterey Hills are in the background. The photo is pasted onto a backing paper which has a pencil inscription for some other photograph. There is a number "8" at the lower right corner of the photo, but no other identifiers. With much creasing, some soiling, and creases and abrasions to the backing paper, the condition is fair.Lexicon
