A charcoal drawing of F.P.F. Temple ca. 1870s. The drawing shows Temple's upper torso. He is posed looking to the left and wears a white collared shirt and black jacket. The artist name is written on the bottom right, K. Millen. The drawing on paper was cut and adhered to an oval shaped board, perhaps in an attempt to support the drawing as it may have been stored in a frame. The image was used in John Steven McGroarty's book "From the Mountains to the Sea," which covered Southern California history in 1921. The charcoal portrait is in good condition with some accretions, however the board support has heavy acid burn.Lexicon
