Description

A letter from Charles Forman, Vice-President and General Manager of the Los Angeles Cable Railway Company, to Col. M.N. Stone, 21 September 1888 with the envelope. The letter, parts a-b, concern litigation involving the railway company and specific components of legal procedure. The letterhead shows a streetcar, the company name, and main officers. The envelope, which has the addressee's name, postage, and postmark of 20 September, indicating that it might have included the partial letter, which is item .2, as well as the company name and image of a streetcar at the upper left, is item c. There are areas of heavy soiling and stains, and it appears that some liquid was spilled on the letter, as well. The envelope also has much soiling, staining, tears, and creases. The overall condition is fair.
