Description

Color: Black; White A photograph mounted on card stock and sold as a souvenir of Charles Lindbergh and his mother, 1928. The famous aviator stands at right wearing a jacket, white shirt, black tie, and light-colored trousers. Standing at left is his mother, wearing a coat with fur collar and cuffs and a cloche hat with beaded floral patterns. The two stand in front a plain gray background. At the bottom is the caption "CAPT. CHARLES A. LINDBERGH / and His Adoring Mother." At the bottom right is the name of the manufacturer (abbreviated so that the name is not clear) and the location of the company in Chicago. On the lower left edge of the reverse is the ink inscription "R. E. 1928," which may indicate the initials of the original owner and the year he received or obtained the card. Except for minor abrasions and creases, light surface soiling, and minor darkening, the artifact is in good condition overall. Number-Units: 1
