CHARLES TEMPLE AND FOUR UNKNOWN PEOPLE AT LA CASA NUEVA'S FOUNTAIN
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of Charles Temple, Jr. with four unknown people at La Casa Nueva's courtyard fountain, ca. 1920s. The group sits across the center on the edge of the fountain with a woman at the far left. She wears a light-colored knee-length dress, hose, and heels. To the right is Temple who wears a tie, collared shirt, three-piece suit, and shoes. The man next to him wears the same, though his suit is of a slightly lighter color. Next to him is a woman in a hat, light-colored knee-length dress, hose, and heels. With her left hand she scratches her forehead. The woman at the far right stands and faces to the left. She wears a dark-colored knee-length dress, hose, and heels. The fountain's round center-piece is at the center of the back with only the top pool and one of the mill-stone visible. Across the back are trees. Part of the home's north arcade is visible through the leaves and branches. Across the bottom of the foreground is a short hedge. At the center of the back is a stamp that reads, "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the bottom right corner is the number, "3." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With stains along the bottom edge, the artifact is in fair condition.
