A tintype photograph in a paper frame of "Chief Manito" and tourists, Mission San Gabriel, ca. 1920s. The group is posed in front of an arched entrance on the mission grounds and features the six tourists in "Indian" costume, while "Chief Manito" at the second to the right wears similar costume that appears more from the Midwest Plains than California. On the reverse are identifications of "the whole tribe." A stamp reads "Chief Manito / Mission Play / San Gabriel, Calif." The overall condition is good.
