CHILD OF J. WALTER AND ISABELLA DROWN, CA. 1880S
Photograph: A black and white photograph of an infant, probably a child of J. Walter and Isabella Drown, ca. 1880s. The image shows the child dressed in a white dress seated on a chair in a portrait setting. The smallness of the photo suggests it may have been in a locket. A photo of Isabella Drown is 96.35.183 and who is probably a sibling is in 96.35.185-.187. J. Walter Drown was adopted by F.P.F. Temple after his father's death in 1863. Walter P. Temple was given his name and later had Perry Worden interview Mrs. Drown for a family history. The Drowns lived at the Workman Homestead in the 1880 census and six years later, Mr. Drown was ranch foreman for William H. Workman in Boyle Heights. The photo is in good condition with some edge wear. From the Thomas Temple Collection, donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis. None
